FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method of operation includes discharging exhaust gases from cylinders of the engine to exhaust pipe line and injecting water in the pipe line in zone of outlet valve of each cylinder at end stage of discharging process. The internal combustion engine has cylinder with outlet valves. A water nozzle is mounted in zone of outlet member of each cylinder. The nozzle is in communication with water source through hydraulic pump and distributor coupled with a shaft of the engine. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 2 dwg
