FIELD: agriculture and medicine. SUBSTANCE: animal houses are disinfected by treating the air and surfaces of equipment in houses with ionized aerosols of disinfectant solutions. Aerosol particles of a mass median diameter of 7-13 microns are directed into the air at the rate of 5-20 ml/m3 then, 5 min after filling the house with aerosol, said air and aerosol are ionized to a volumetric charge density (2-10)·1012 of elementary charges per 1 cm3 for 30-40 min. The device for realization of said method comprises corona-discharge electrodes with insulators and a high-voltage source in the form of a rectifier. Corona electrodes have the form of stripped wire of 0.1-0.8 mm diameter stretched at a distance of 0.5-2 m from the treated surfaces by means of insulators secured to house walls while output of high voltage source is connected to corona electrodes by a resistor. Insulator is made of PVC threads 1-2 mm in diameter and fluoroplastic rings whose inside and outside diameters are 20-30 and 26-40 mm, respectively. This arrangement ensures efficient disinfection of all surfaces, guards and equipment, labor safety, and reduces consumption of disinfectant two times as compared with known methods.
