FIELD: oil and gas producing industry. SUBSTANCE: catcher has body 1 having eccentric thread on its upper end section for coupling to string 2; limiter 3 eccentrically mounted on body 1; guiding rod 4 having teeth 5. Eccentricities of the coupling thread and limiter are located on one side, and guiding rod 4 is attached to body 1 on another side. Since the upper end of the cut flexible member lays on the lower borehole wall and the catcher slides along this wall when going in hole, with guiding rod being on the upper borehole wall side, limiter 3, when encountering the upper cable end, bends said end. The resultant cable loops are clamped by teeth 5 as the catcher is withdrawn from the borehole. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 1 dwg
