FIELD: oil production industry, particularly catching tools used for oil well repair.
SUBSTANCE: sucker rod socket comprises body having conical surface and connected with head in upper part thereof, sucker rod gripper, thrust and bearing ledges formed in rod head and bell guide. The gripper is made as two replaceable slip dies sliding over conical body surface and adapted to be used with sucker rods having diameters of 25, 22 and 19 mm. Bell guide define inner conical surface along with body to provide movement of torn or unscrewed upper rod end from productive string column and to align thereof. Tubing strings for socket lowering are connected to socket head. The rod socket is designed in accordance with production string diameter and permits passage of sucker rods stuck in tubing string, which is secured in production string through rod socket interior.
EFFECT: increased reliability and load-carrying capacity.
