FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: adsorbent is located in a shell with porous gas-permeable walls. The shell walls are made from aluminium alloy fibers with sickle-shaped cross section. Each fiber width is 0,1-1,5 mm and its length is larger than the width by a factor of 5. The porosity of the walls is equal to 50-70%. The adsorption element is manufactured by positioning the adsorbent between layers formed from particles of a high-heat-conducting material, caking and cooling. Aluminium alloy fibers are used as particles and have superfinely divided metastable microstructure with grain size of no more than 5 microns. The caking is made under loading of 0.5-1.0 MPa at temperature of 0.8-0.55 of the alloy melting temperature and in vacuum. EFFECT: improved structure and quality. 5 cl, 2 dwg
