FIELD: pumps. SUBSTANCE: pressure and cavitation characteristics are taken from a tested pump on a stand at a shut-off flow receiver. Actual ranges of pressure at the inlet of the pump and its flow rate are determined and assumed as mode parameters where cavitation self-oscillations occur. These ranges are compared with the specified range of these parameters. When the ranges differ the receiver is connected to the joint of a feed pipeline, the distance from the pump inlet to the point the receiver is connected is set considering the difference between the ranges of the mode parameters. The cavitation and pressure pump characteristics are taken in series, the cavitation self-oscillations are registered and the volume of cavities is determined within the specified mode parameters range. EFFECT: improved accuracy. 6 dwg
