FIELD: test technology, mining. SUBSTANCE: device has housing 1, punch 2 and loading plunger 3 with hinged member 4. Plunger 3 is movable in guides 5 of housing 1. Hinged member 4 has a ball segment a height of which exceeds a ball segment radius, a spheric insert interposed between the ball segment and loading plunger 3, a nut with openings. Specimen 10 in the form of a flat disk of rock is placed between the flat support surfaces of ball segment and punch. A rotation center of outer spheric surface of the insert is disposed in the center of flat surface of the ball segment. Upon loading the rock specimen the ball segment and spheric insert are tightly pressed to loading plunger 3 with the aid of a special wrench insert into the nut openings.
