FIELD: test technology; testing shell-type structures for strength and resistance to external pressure and bending moment. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining transverse displacement of a chamber upon applying a transverse force to it, applying a transverse force equal to a force ensuring a transverse displacement to a shell-type structure without chamber, increasing a transverse force applied to the chamber under the action of external pressure and bending moment upon the shell-type structure and maintaining the ratio of transverse forces applied to the chamber and shell-type structure equal to the ratio of transverse forces applied to them before placing the shell in chamber. EFFECT: simplified method and enhanced accuracy due to excluding force interaction between the chamber and shell-type structure. 1 dwg
