FIELD: measurement and experimental technology. SUBSTANCE: specimen is placed in a test chamber between spaces filled with liquid and gas. Liquid is removed from the specimen by filling it with gas, pressure difference at the specimen is measured and, knowing the coefficient of liquid surface tension and contact angle of wetting, the equivalent capillary diameter of pores is calculated. At removal of liquid from the specimen its consumption is measured and, having preliminarily determined the quantity of pores per unit of specimen area and area of the specimen proper, the position of liquid meniscus in pores from test time is determined. After that correspondence of the structural characteristics of penetrable material to the coordinate of meniscus position in pores is determined. Liquid is removed from pores stepwise with intervals, and pressure difference at the specimen is measured during intervals. After the test the specimen is turned over, and the test is repeated again. The coordinate of meniscus position, corresponding to the given structural characteristics, is determined as an arithmetic mean of the coordinates obtained in two tests. The device presents a chamber with liquid and gas spaces communicating with the pressure difference transducer. The device for removal of liquid from the specimen is a single-piston hydraulic machine, and the transducer for determining the consumption of removed liquid is a transducer of the hydraulic machine piston stroke. Knowing the piston diameter and its stroke, it is possible to determine the consumption of liquid at any moment. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 4 cl, 3 dwg
