FIELD: safety of traffic. SUBSTANCE: vehicle speed metering system is provided with special transducers for sensing conditions of brake system, signalling devices, head lamps and force of squeezing steering wheel by the driver. It includes also distributing unit, multichannel amplifier-coder unit, operating mode selection unit, erasing current generator, vehicle movement pickup, supply voltage regulator, electric motor, tape drive, tape cassettes with rollers and magnetic tape, read-record magnetic head, erasing head, pilot lamp and decoder unit. In addition to measuring vehicle speed, the system provides also for tape-recording this speed and other parameters of technical condition and functioning of vehicle and psychophysical state of driver. Safety of recorded information is ensured due to that tape recording devices are placed in special container. EFFECT: possibility for use of recorded information in carrying out investigations in case of accident. 3 dwg
