SUBSTANCE: device that has guide drum mounted for rotation and carrying on its external cylindrical surface magnetic tape mating video head under check and reference one, video head under check being connected to reproduction input and recording output of first wrote-read preamplifier whose read output is connected to first input of read amplifier connected to display input, and second input, to switch output whose control input is connected to measured signal generator output, is provided in addition with velocity sensor mounted in bottom part of guide drum whose intake coils are located under guide drum and equally spaced from its center line, and second read preamplifier whose read and write input are connected to standard magnetic head and its output is connected to first input of read amplifier and its input is connected to second output of switch connected to input of first write-read preamplifier through its third output; first and second groups of data inputs of switches are connected, respectively, to intake coils of velocity sensor.
