DEVICE FOR GROWING VERMICULTURE AND PRODUCTION OF BIOHUMUS Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: device comprises a trestle with monorails 2 in its upper and lower parts. Said monorails have movable rods 3 which carry netting sheet 4 on the top and solid sheeting 5 at the bottom. Installed in the upper part of trestle on its both sides are metal racks 6 with threaded shafts 7 and guide spindles provided with movable coupling 9. Secured to said coupling by snap hook 15 are transverse ropes of netting sheet while longitudinal ropes are secured to the drums of winches 12 installed in openings of uprights 14 on the upper and lower parts of the trestle. Besides, there are platform-mounted compost hopper, automatic loader and vibrosieve. Netting 4 is attached by snap hook 15 to rods 3 moving over upper monorails 2. Compost is delivered in a uniform layer 200-250 mm thick from hopper by autoloader. While netting 4 is being pulled by winch 12 throughout the length of trestle, said netting is reattached to vertically moving couplings 9 which ease it down and place it above lower solid sheeting 5. After the worms have consumed the compost, netting 4 goes down together with biohumus onto sheeting 5, is unhooked from couplings 9 and is taken out together with lower solid sheeting 5.
