FIELD: rolled stock production. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of setting elongation factors upon stepwise subdivision of a width, except the last stage, according to formula, given in a description of the invention; performing two maximum admissible reduction values and a lengthwise ironing pass in horizontal rolls; measuring a width and a thickness of the rolled piece before the last pass for subdivision of the width; determining the width thickness in the last pass; when a total elongation factor upon width subdivision process is more, than 2.3-3.5, performing two pairs of reversible passes with angle of guiding the rolled piece relative to a rolling line, equal to 10-20 degrees upon first stage of the width subdivision; changing a direction of the guiding angle between pairs of the passes. EFFECT: production of sheets with edges, reduced along the whole length, lowered side crops due to lowered camber along a width a mean thickness difference of sheet batch. 2 cl, 1 dwg
