FIELD: test equipment. SUBSTANCE: method consists in production of specimen by tee welding of two plates and bar installed in the groove between the plates perpendicularly to the latters and made up of two unequal parts preliminarily chamfered at an angle to its axis and laid together with the chamfered surfaces. Welding is conducted in the direction from the larger part of the specimen to the smaller one, and bending load is applied to the larger part of the specimen. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of estimation of toughness of base metal breaking in weld area. 4 dwg
