FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves counting the number of particles of friable material and amplitudes of signals arising when said particles collide with transmitter. The next steps include assessing maximum and minimum amplitudes of signals and calculating the minimum and maximum distances of particle flight and their diameters. Next operations involve determining nonuniformity curve at initial settings of machine working tools which ensure a maximum working coverage of the given machine for the given friable material. The data collecting and processing program and initial settings of working tools are introduced into microcomputer memory, conveyors are set in operation and the test machine is set to initial position by automatic manipulator with particle flow sensor. The microcomputer carries out the required calculations and the automatic manipulator moves the particle flow sensor in the material sieving sector. The results of information processing are delivered into a printer. EFFECT: improved functional and operating characteristics. 3 cl, 2 dwg
