METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING NUMBER OF BLANKS FOR REMOVING FROM ZONE OF STAMPING Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical metal working. SUBSTANCE: light emitter and light receiver are used for detecting a blank having a butt of rods. The light emitters and the first light receiver are mounted at a distance less than l/2 on both sides of an axle which is positioned at a distance n*l from a stop, where n is the number of rod motions and l is blank length. The number of removed blanks is equal to unit when the butt of rods is located at the middle part of the blank and both light receivers are set in operation in supplying. The number of removed blanks is equal to two when the butt is located at edge of the blank and the first light receiver is set in operation only in supplying. The device has two light emitters, two light receivers, four storage elements, three controllers, two AND logic elements, switch, two counters, pickup of blank supplying, and mechanism for control of blank supplying. All of these elements are connected with each other in a given manner. When a butt of rods is passed the first counter begins to count the number of motions n in response to a signal from the light receiver. After the counter is set in operation the second counter begins to count the number of motions of a transferring mechanism which is equal to the number of the blanks to be removed. The mechanism for transferring blanks does not supply cut blanks in stamping zone in response to a signal from the second counter. When operation of the second counter stops the mechanism for control of blank supplying is set in operation. The removing of the blanks stops. The mechanism for transferring blanks supplies the blanks in zone of stamping. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 3 cl, 1 dwg
