FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: in rod installation rod mask is mounted on rear plate for generation of vacuum or pressure for holding rod or rods in mask. Unit having mask and rear plate is charged into holder near rod installation. The unit is shifted from the holder to rod installation where it is installed in the respective position and is fastened so that it can be released with simultaneous installation of fluidal connection of the unit and rod installation. The unit is withdrawn after its employment from rod installation by means of blocking release and is returned to holder where it is kept for further employment or put out manually for liberation of place for new unit.
