FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: gangway comprises arresting member 1 connected with gangway bridge 2 which interacts with support plate 3 rigidly secured to the end wall of vehicle body. Disposed between body 5 and arresting member 1 is flexible member 6 while rolling member is located between bridge 2 and support plate 3. Bridge 2 has hangers which comprise rod 9 rigidly connected to said bridge 2, and two levers 10 with springs. Ends of each lever are articulated to rod 9 while the two other ends are connected with stationary support plate 3 and with support plate 12 of arresting member 1. Rods 9 of hangers 8 are interconnected by crosspiece 13. In operation, the arresting member 1 is shifted by externally-applied force from initial position, overriding the flexible resistance of member 6, and its support plate 12 moves under the rolling member of bridge 2. Simultaneously, all the members of hanger 8 start moving. Under the forces transmitted from the bracket of support plate 12 the spring-loaded levers 10 turn in their end joints, moving the crosspiece 13 in parallel, as a side of a parallelogram, in a transverse direction. Motion of crosspiece 13 originates similar motions of levers 10 connected with support plate 3 of body 5. Said plate 3, remaining parallel with crosspiece 13 comes nearer to it.
