FIELD: devices for compaction of ballast under railway track ties. SUBSTANCE: hydraulic system comprises motor, pump, pneudraulic accumulator, safety valve, double-acting cylinder whose casing is articulated to working tool, adjustable throttle and hydraulic control valve. The latter has single- and double-step plungers interacting with ball type closing element. Casing cavity has two recesses while each plunger has one recess. Pressure differentials are generated by an additional hydraulic control valve which has a plunger with T-shaped hole in its body. Plunger is flexibly pressed against ball.
