DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUS CONTROL OF PARAMETERS OF HEXAHEDRAL FIBER-OPTIC ROD DURING ITS DRAWING Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: measurement equipment. SUBSTANCE: device has laser 1, collimator 2, beam splitter 3 forming two measuring channels. The first measuring channel serves to analyze distribution of illumination intensity on plane of analysis and to compute size of shade projection of hexahedral rod 5 and has frosted deflector 4, objective lens 6, coordinate-sensitive photodetector 7 and information processing block. The latter consists of device 8 processing videosignal, computing device 9 and registrar of size of hexahedral rod. The second channel is meant for determination of twist angle of hexahedral fiber-optic rod by variation of diffraction-interference pattern which takes place during rotation of rod round its axis. Channel accommodates successively polarizing filter 11, objective lens 12 with two similar slit diaphragms in rear focal plane secured behind slit diaphragms are two two-platform photodetectors connected to the second information block. The latter consists of comparator, counter of interference bands, second computing device and registrar of twist angle of hexahedral rod. The second computing device is connected with the first one for transmission of information on introduction of connectors when computing size of sexahedral rod considering its angle of twist during its drawing. All optical and electronic members are attached to common platform with hole to pass controlled rod 5. Platform is installed for rotation round geometric axis of rod 5. EFFECT: extended functional capabilities of device due to possibility of determination of twist angle of controlled rod with concurrent increase of speed of response owing to exclusion of optical-mechanical scanning of light beam and replacement of it by optoelectronic scanning. 6 dwg
