FIELD: experimental equipment for investigation of hydrodynamics of flow in impellers of hydraulic machines by visualizing the flow therein. SUBSTANCE: hydraulic machine comprises casing 1 with transparent cover 2, impeller 4 with blades 5, driving disc 6, transparent cover disc 7, and shell 8 with opening 9. Shell 8 and disc 6 form a space accommodating porous permeable partition 10, central chamber 11 and peripheral chamber 12. Central chamber 11 is filled with liquid dyestuff 13 while peripheral chamber 12 communicates with interblade chambers 14 of impeller 4 through holes 15 in disc 6. Partition 10 is installed in chamber 12 between opening 9 of shell 8 and holes 15 of disc 6. Chamber 11 accommodates porous insert 16 adjoining the porous permeable partition 10 in conjugation zone of chambers 11 and 12. Porous permeable partition 10 functions as capillary pump and ensures constant flow rate and concentration of dyestuff 13 in colored liquid. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
