THYRISTOR SWITCH Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

Abstract RU 2020742 C1

FIELD: pulse technique. SUBSTANCE: thyristor switch has in each handled phase power thyristor and power diode in which diode-anode-to-thyristor-cathode point of connection is connected to input bus of phase and diode-cathode-to-thyristor-anode point of connection, to output bus used for load connection; it also has three diodes whose cathodes are connected to gate electrodes of power thyristors of each phase and their anodes are connected to first lead of control switch; three additional diodes; three resistors; one voltage regulator diode whose anode is connected to second lead of control switch and its cathode is connected to anodes of fourth, fifth, and sixth diodes and to first leads of first, second, and third resistors. Point of connection of fourth diode cathode and second lead of first resistor is connected to output terminal of first phase; point of connection of fifth diode cathode and second lead of second resistor is connected to output terminal of second phase; point of connection of sixth diode cathode and second lead of third resistor is connected to output terminal of third phase. EFFECT: reduced current through gate junctions of power thyristors and control switch which improved device reliability. 1 dwg
