FIELD: space engineering. SUBSTANCE: to reduce time for constructing of orientation of axis of sight of narrow-field meter of angular deviation of space ship from the direction onto radiation source, in particular, IR builder of local vertical on center - local vertical of Earth - as well as for providing three-axis orientation of space ship to the moment of coincidence of axis of sight with local vertical of Earth, the axis of space ship is fixed, which has projection of guiding unit vector onto axis of basis connected with space ship is equal to corresponding projections of unit vector of direction of Sun at the axis of orbital basis. The plane is fixed formed by directions on Sun and directions on fixed axis. Space ship is turned about axis being perpendicular to fixed plane along the shortest way, till the axis of space ship coincides with direction on Sun. Then the space ship is turned about direction on Sun till axis of sight and local vertical coincide simultaneously with compensating deviation of axis of rotation of space ship from direction on Sun and position of the axis of rotation of space ship during change in values of projections of unit vector of direction on Sun at the axis of orbital basis during period of orientation of space ship.
