FIELD: drying of materials. SUBSTANCE: drying chamber has control valve, gas flowmeter, heat exchanger, vacuum chamber, pressure-and-vacuum gauge, thermometer and vacuum pump. Vacuum chamber has cylindrical shell with bottom, hatch, headers, sealing gaskets, removable hood, loading carriage with platform and lumber stack. Gaskets are placed between lumber stack rows. Removable hood is installed on loading carriage with clearance relative to lumber stack equal to clearance between lumbers. Hood is connected by one end either with gas inlet or gas outlet header. Hood is made of heat insulating material. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of lumber drying. 2 cl, 4 dwg
