BLAST FURNACE COOLING DEVICE Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: blast furnace cooling device has system of cooling vertical pipes and horizontal tubular coils mounted in refractory material in parallel with furnace casing. Vertical pipes have thick walls and big diameter and are positioned nearer to working surface of furnace. Distance between planes of arrangement of vertical pipes and horizontal coils is within half-sum range of their outside diameters plus 1.5-2 of outside diameter of coil pipe. Cooling pipes in place of inlet and outlet through casing of furnace are rigidly attached to it. Distance between axes of pipes of coil is equal to 3.0-6.0 of their outside diameter. Distance between axes of vertical pipes along perimeter of furnace is equal to 2.0-3.0 of their outside diameter. EFFECT: enhanced cooling efficiency. 2 dwg
