FIELD: manufacture of engines, namely, in transport power plants with piston-type internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: engine has cylinders 1 with pistons 4 and rods 5, shaft 2 with two main trunnions 10, cross-piece 11 with two additional trunnions 12 movably mounted on main trunnions 10 for swinging about their axis, washer 13 with main inclined surface mounted movably on additional trunnions 12 and engageable with rods 5 of pistons 4, as well as with mechanism for changing angle of inclination of washer 13 in the cycle relative to axis of rotation of shaft 2. This mechanism has load-bearing insert 19 in form of revolving cylindrical envelope with one onclined base which is provided with internal gear wheel 24 in its inner chamber and fixed axles with gears 25 connected with housing. Fixed axles are parallel to the shaft. Gears 25 are engageable with gear wheels 23 and 24 owing to which insert 19 revolves relative to shaft 2 and washer 13 rests on inclined base of insert by the bearing flange rigidly secured with it. Contact surface of the flange is also inclined. Change in piston stroke is obtained through change of angle of inclination of washer relative to axis of rotation of the shaft.
