FIELD: railway transport, particular, track structure. SUBSTANCE: switch point consists of high rail 1 and low rail 2 interconnected by fasteners. Both rails are bent in plan opposite to each other. Low rail rests on upper face of high rail foot through wedge chair 7. Bent part of low rail is located under head of high rail in its recess that provides for taking up the clearance between contacting surfaces when tightening rail joint with the aid of bolts.
