FIELD: chemistry, particularly, methods of extracting gold and silver. SUBSTANCE: this method prescribes extracting noble metals from cyanide solutions and pulps containing nonferrous metals by using oxidant, which contains active chlorine (pH value higher than 10), and before precipitation of valuable desired component, for example gold or silver, provided that concentration of silver is found insignificant. After reduction of pH value of medium, sorption of gold and/or silver should be conducted at pH value from 6 to 10. EFFECT: disclosed method allows effectively precipitating metallic impurities, preventing precipitation of noble metals when readying these for sorption involving alkaline-cyanide solutions and absorbing gold and/or silver with use of low-base anionites. 1 tbl
