FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: with approach or touch of working part of discharge display and of electrified region working part connected to upper plate of capacitor is changed to potential of electrified region. Under action of electrostatic field in interelectrode space particle executes oscillatory motion touching plate of capacitor periodically. At moment when particle passes through path of propagation of light beam light will be shut off by surface of particle. In this case modulation of value of luminous flux coming to photodetector occurs. Process of discharge is judged by periodic change of luminous flux. EFFECT: spark-safe bleed and registration of electrostatic charges from elements of equipment. 7 dwg
