FIELD: manufacture of insulating gaskets. SUBSTANCE: method involves gathering strips 1 into package and connecting their longitudinal edges by two parallel sheet blanks 2 laid from the side of thickness of strips 11 at the two opposite sides of package, assuming the length L of sheet blanks to be equal to the length of strips in package and their width B, to their thickness δ multiplied by their number. Sheet blanks 2 are cut on lines of contact of strips 1 with distance b between cuts 3 equal to twice the thickness d of strips 1, disposing the cuts 3 in a staggered order in the cross sectional plane of package. The package of strips is cut in transverse direction and in staggered order, extending each cut 4 to depth d equal to the sum of width of package strip 1 and thickness b of sheet blank 2. Then the package is stretched in two relatively perpendicular directions (along the length and thickness of strips 1) to impart a three-dimensional shape to the gasket, and fixing the latter. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 dwg
