FIELD: heat treating of granular material. SUBSTANCE: planet heat exchanger is provided with rotating drum 1 having distributing head 4 with ring space 5 and pin 6. Heat carrier is delivered to ring space 5 through gas duct 13 by fan 14 and enters spaces of bottom parts of air chambers 9 through openings provided in pin 6 and radial branch pipes 7. The air chambers are positioned at face of each planet pipe. Heat carrier is spread over all length of material layer under sections 11, filtered within it in cross flow, and then by-passed to rotating drum 1 through by-pass branch pipes 3. Heat carrier is consumed in roasting or is fed for removing dust if the planet heat exchanger is intended for heating of material. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 4 dwg
