COLLAPSIBLE CATAMARAN Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: tourism and sports. SUBSTANCE: catamaran has sail, swivel mast with under-mast unit and bridle, centreboard, rudder and frame with bottles secured to it. Frame has transverse beams and longitudinal beam and two trusses partially embracing the bottles. Each truss has two lower and one upper stringers and frames according to the number of transverse beams fitted with locks for securing the lower stringers which are mounted in wells of bottles and are shifted upwrd relative to axial section of the bottle by height of 1/4 ± 1/12 of the diameter of the bottle cross section; upper stringer is located horizontally and is shifted by height exceeding half the diameter of the bottle cross section. Rigidity of the catamaran construction is ensured by braces of the mast and bridle. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 3 cl, 3 dwg
