DETACHABLE CATAMARAN Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: shipbuilding; design of multi-hulled water craft having structural members made from nonrigid materials, for example, inflatable sides. SUBSTANCE: detachable catamaran includes inflatable hulls, detachable rod-type skeleton with longitudinal and transverse beams, soft deck and stringers connected with hulls. Catamaran is also provided with sectional detachable mast mounted on transverse beam of bridge with set of crosspieces, standing rigging, sail rigging with boom, running rigging with boom sheet, blocks and lock of boom sheet, as well as centerboard and steering gear. Detachable catamaran is provided with lower rope system which includes ropes which are mating ropes of standing rigging secured to end of sling fitted on undermast beam. Catamaran is also provided with inflatable roll over edge of deck; longitudinal and transverse beans of catamaran are sectional. Stringers are bent lengthwise for connection with inflatable hulls of varying positive longitudinal curvature in plane of symmetry. Plane of bridge having soft deck is located not below level of ends of hulls; each hull, each stringer, centerboard, steering gear, each frame, deck together with inflatable shaft, section of each longitudinal beam together with undermast transverse beam, sling and lower rope system, section of mast together with standing rigging, boom together with boom sheet, blocks and lock of boom sheet and each unit of cross-pieces are made in form of non-detachable modules interconnected by means of quick-detachable connecting units whose members are combined with modules at joint areas.
