FIELD: testing equipment. SUBSTANCE: interrelation of temperature of tenacious-brittle transition of material and of acoustic emission emerging with brittle failure of sample is established. In this case sample made of n elements, each presenting beam with restrained ends, is used for testing. At various temperatures effort is applied to center of elements and pulses of acoustic emission are registered. Temperature at which share P of elements radiating pulses of acoustic emission lies within range O<P<I is taken as temperature of tenacious-brittle transition of material.
