CURRENT COLLECTING DEVICE FOR TROLLEY VEHICLE WITH SELF-CONTAINED DIESEL-GENERATOR PLANT Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: transport. SUBSTANCE: device has diesel-generator and trolley power supply mode selector, two RS flip-flops, two AND gates, NOT gate, time delay unit, controlled switch, cab door interlock contacts and electromagnetic valves in pantograph pneumatic control circuits. If driver fails to shift mode selector to "engine mode", he might get electric shock when getting out of cab at station. Offered device prevents electric shocks by breaking supply circuits of valve electromagnets, i. e. makes pantographs lower down in above indicated case. To prevent damage to current collecting units in case of sharp disconnection of pantographs from contact system, consumed current is previously reduced by interlocking of controlled rectifier.
