FIELD: automation of raw material grinding processes. SUBSTANCE: method for determination of overloading of drum mill includes determination of beginning of overloading of drum-type grinding unit. Under normal operating conditions of grinding unit, evaluated are prior probability of beginning of overloading of mill for preset time interval ΔT, arbitrary distributions of probabilities of symptom of overloading, as well as members of payment matrix to take into account economic losses in case of erroneous determination of beginning of overload (error of 1 order) and losses when fixed is absence of overloading in case of its actual presence (error of 11 order). In real time scale the quantitative value of overloading symptom is determined, empirical probability of overloading beginning and arbitrary risk values are calculated. Used as symptom of overloading beginning is, depending on power signal fluctuations and filling of mill internal space, value of derivative averaged by three time intervals, or number of combination of derivative three signs.
