FIELD: machine-tool manufacture. SUBSTANCE: when half nuts 9 and 10 form a circle, rack 15 is disengaged from rack 16, thus the vise is ready to operate in the self-centering variant. When half nuts 9 and 10 are disconnected screw 6 is set free and racks 15 and 16 engage. In so doing jaw 3 is fixed to the vise casing. The left part of the screw rotates idle, thus the vise is ready to operate in the variant with one immovable jaw. EFFECT: simpler design. 2 dwg
