FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: bench vice has housing with jaws one of which is adjustable and connected with the lead screw. The lead screw is provided with clamping nut. The housing receives air chamber with diaphragm provided with a pusher. The pusher is connected with one arm of a double-armed lever. The other arm of the lever is secured to the clamping nut on the screw which is provided with an additional support. The second jaw is unmovable and in coincidence with the housing.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
