FIELD: fire extinguishing equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining leakage of gas from products under test into isolated by selectively withdrawing products through sequential dividing products into subgroups, with the number of products being each time decreased by half in case even number of basic products is available, and by one more in one of subgroups in case of odd number of products; repeatedly testing only products of subgroups, in which leakage of gas has occurred during previous test cycle. Leakage of gas from products may be judged from time of emptying of measuring test-tube, which is submerged into vessel with liquid by its open end for a predetermined depth above outlet opening of pipe communicated with isolated volume, upon pressurizing this volume to pressure equal to height of liquid column in vessel above pipe outlet opening. EFFECT: increased efficiency in selecting of defective products and reduced cost of tests. 1 dwg
