FIELD: load lifting cranes. SUBSTANCE: device for turning lifting crane swivel has platform 1 and deflecting sheaves 2 mounted on platform. Two cables 3 and 4 are reeved through sheaves 2. Swivel 8 is secured in center of platform. Mounted inside platform are spur gear train consisting of gear 6 and toothed wheel 7 and single-groove driving sheave 5. Gear 6 is rigidly coupled with driving sheave 5, and toothed wheel 7, with swivel 8. Angle of contact of cable with driving sheave 5 is calculated by expression given in description of invention.
