FIELD: production of natural stone. SUBSTANCE: row of holes are drilled in the plane of anticipated splitting of block. Lower parts of holes are filled with substances which expand when hardened. Hydraulic wedges are installed into hole mouths. Depth of nonfilled part of hole amounts to 1-3 lengths of working member of hydraulic wedge. Upon reaching the maximum pressure exerted by expanding substance, hydraulic wedges are engaged to separate block. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
