FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: catalytic helioreactor for the thermochemical conversion of the solar energy is made in the form of a cylindrical cavity inside which a catalytic absorber is mounted. The absorber has several layers with the organized structure of cells. Each separate layer has a different level of the catalytic activity and is set with a small gap between the adjacent layers. The innovation can be used to carry out any endothermic reactions in order to accumulate energy, to receive electric power during the closed chemical cycles, to create ground or space autonomous solar power plants, to obtain synthesis-gas with its further conversion to different hydrocarbons.
