FIELD: color display systems. SUBSTANCE: color display system has cathode-ray tube 10 and magnetic deflecting yoke 30 mounted on tube 10. The latter has envelope accommodating complanar electron gun 26 used for generating three complanar beams 28 and guiding them along originally complanar paths to screen 22 provided on inner surface of envelope. Gun has many electrodes spaced apart and forming three lenses. First lens L1 has beam-forming region to shape actually symmetrical beams for second lens 12. The latter has first modulating electrode (flat electrode) 50 with apertures of definite shape to form asymmetrically formed beams for third or main lens L3. At least one, and better two, transient-voltage signals 26, 30 are fed to electrode 50 of second lens. Other transient-voltage signal 28 is applied to second modulating electrode section of third lens. Voltage signals are associated with beam deflection.
