FIELD: materials handling mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: overload safeguard has rod coupled with load-lifting mechanism cable and arranged in sleeve and spring-loaded relative to sleeve and microswitches engaging with shaped member. Microswitches send signals indicating that load is suspended from hook, weight of load does not exceed 0.8 of rated value and, if weight of load exceeds 1.1 of rated value, they send signal to switch off the crane. Shaped member is made in form of one of plates connecting disk and ring into rigid piston installed on end of rod. Microswitches are installed in sleeve.
