FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: the starting raw material is first pretreated and then smelted and sulfated by welding on in the presence of ferric sulfate and alkali metal sulfate. The product is leached and non-ferrous metal sulfates are passed in solution from which salts and metal hydroxides are successively recovered by fractionation of ion-exchange or liquid-liquid extraction. The pretreatment is carried out by oxidative roasting or with concentrated sulfuric acid at 200-300 C for 5-60 min or by oxidative heat treatment in an atmosphere of SO2 and SO3. In case of sulfurization by welding up, a certain ferric sulfate ratio is maintained in a mixture of sulfates. EFFECT: more efficient recovery process. 7 cl, 1 dwg, 3 tbl
