FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes supplying charge into the cylinder, supplying fresh charge into the compression chamber, compressing the charge in the cylinder, igniting the charge, burning out the charge and expansion of burned out products, compression and heating of the fresh charge in the compression chamber, discharging exhaust gases from the cylinder, and by-passing of compressed fresh charge from the compression chamber to the cylinder. Heat, which is generated in compression of the fresh charge during by- passing from the compression chamber to the cylinder, is partially accumulated in the compression chamber. The fresh charge is then expanded to transfer the accumulated heat to the charge. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 dwg
