FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes supplying charge into the cylinder, supplying cooling charge into a space heated by heat of combustion products of the charge, compressing the charge in the cylinder, compressing and heating the cooling charge in the space, igniting and burning out the charge, expanding combustion products in the cylinder which is accompanied with doing mechanical work, discharging exhaust gases from the cylinder and discharging the cooling charge from the space. The exhaust gases is fed from the cylinder to a heat exchanger. In compression, the cooling charge is additionally heated in the heat exchanger. The heat of the charge is partially accumulated in the space. The heated cooling charge is expanded upstream of the outlet of the space. Simultaneously, the charge is additionally heated, releases the heat accumulated in the space, and does additional mechanical work. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 dwg
