METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF POLE PIECES OF MAGNETIC HEADS AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: instrumentation. SUBSTANCE: method of manufacture of pole pieces includes uncoiling of sheet billet into separate billets with the aid of abrasive discs with simultaneous feed of cooling medium into cutting zone, subsequent separation of given billets into individual plates of pole pieces. Cooling medium is fed into cutting zone under pressure above 10⁴ Pa with speed not less than 25 m/s. Fluid over faces of disc in radial direction. Depth of cutting of sheet billets amounts 15-20 mm and speed of relative movement of axle of abrasive disc and sheet billet is up to 15-25 mm/min. Graininess of disc is from 50/40 to 160-125 μm. Surface active substance in the amount of 2.25-2.50 % and mineral oil (0.025-0.05 %) are injected into aqueous solution of fluid. Device for realization of method has rotating spindle with abrasive disc anchored on its end with flanges being positioned on both faces and means to feed fluid into cutting zone with nozzle and mobile table under abrasive disc with means of attachment of sheet billet. Butt of each flange adjacent to abrasive disc has radial grooves crossed by ring groove. The other butt of flange has ring cavity to feed cooling medium. Holes are drilled between ring groove and cavity. Nozzles are mounted opposite to ring cavities into which fluid is fed. EFFECT: facilitated manufacture. 2 cl, 7 dwg
