FIELD: fire-fighting, civil engineering, determining smoke-generating capacity of burning materials. SUBSTANCE: device comprises fire furnace, drawout and forced-draught fans, smoke stack directly connected with smoke furnace, and opposed cylindrical pipes set in a spaced relation to one another, having a light source and a photodetector, the axes of said pipes lying on a common straight line with the hole axes of the pipe, and arranged perpendicularly to its longitudinal axis. The device may have additionally a smoke stack blower positioned in the zone of cylindrical pipes with light source and photodetector. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 2 dwg
