FIELD: chemical industry, cooled reactor for exothermic catalytic conversion of gaseous materials, for example, for oxidizing synthesis, for hydrogen and nitrogen conversion for the aim of methanol production. SUBSTANCE: reactor has cylindrical high-pressure vessel, distributing means for synthesized gas, at least one sheet to secure tubes and one or more catalytic chamber, provided with cooling tubes for indirect cooling of reacting gas. Each cooling tube comprise external tube provided with heat-exchanging external wall. This external wall surrounds internal tube and is coaxial to it, thus the external tube restricts annular gap, the internal wall of which is provided with holes to direct cooling gas flow into annular gap and along heat-exchanging wall. The synthesized gas may be used as cooling gas or be a part of it. EFFECT: temperature drop in catalytic chamber is levelled rapidly that results in increased yield of the product, and hence enables to decrease amount of catalyst for the said process. 6 cl, 5 dwg
